This week I’m going back to the basics of clean eating. I’m a yogurt and fruit lover! I’ll eat the stuff all day. Part of trying to get back into having a healthier diet requires finding things you like to eat but that are also healthy.
A treat I like to have as a dessert is frozen yogurt from Pink Berry or Sweet Frog. I usually get plain low-fat vanilla and pile on fruit and nuts. Watch the calorie count (usually listed) on the yogurt you’re choosing, some can be really high and you wouldn’t expect it!
If you’re into pecans, walnuts, almonds etc. watch the calories in those too. They aren’t meant to be snacked on all day. They’re more of a protein pick-me-up for the middle of the day. They have many health benefits but can be fattening if eaten too liberally.
Crackers and cheese cubes are another favorite of mine. I like wheat crackers and small cheddar cheese cubes. Grapes can also be a nice touch!
Finally, water is a must to have around. It helps flush out your digestive system and hydrates your body giving you a healthy glow. I flavor mine with fruit such as lemon or strawberries. I also happen to love cucumber and mint in my water!
