One of my favorite things about being a fashion and home decor blogger is being able to feature amazing new boutiques and small businesses. Since moving to Dallas, I’ve gotten to find some of the cutest little shops this city has to offer. However, one of my favorite boutiques is the Anderson Road Co., run by two awesome people in San Antonio! Since not everyone is blessed to live in the great state of Texas, their store is online so everyone can enjoy it. Here are a few of my favorite products!
W & P Pineapple Shaker
For someone who appreciates functionality and style, you’ll love this cocktail shaker! It has a copper finish but is made from sturdy stainless steel. I run out of cabinet room in my kitchen pretty quickly so I love home decor items that I can have sitting out on my counter top!
Maxx & Unicorn Pill Key Ring
I can’t stand normal key rings that require me to chip at least one nail to get a key onto them. This pill key ring is made right here in the USA from brass.
Root & Willow Lava Scrub
A great body scrub is hard to find, but this one is made from organic ingredients! This particular fragrance is called Rosewood & Honey and includes a daily mantra to look forward to every time you enjoy it.
W & P Host Book
A lot of times I find books like these are only going to gather dust on my coffee table, but this book is different! It’s a recipe book that includes recipes for smaller gatherings and larger ones. Entertaining is something that I haven’t done much of, so any how-to book I can get my hands on is fun for me to read!
Cotton & Flax Tea Towel
My collection of cute hand towels continues to grow every time I go shopping! This adorable tea towel is handmade and uses eco-friendly ink for the neat grid lines printed on the front.

Hey girls! I hope your week is going fast and you have something to look forward to this weekend. Every single day this week has flown by (knock on wood) and I hope it continues that way. I can’t stand to sit at a desk bored all day long. Luckily, my job keeps me busy pretty much all day long. By the time I get home every day, all I want is a nice, hot bath and lots of sleep.
One of my favorite things about my bathroom is the pretty granite countertops and the cute little linen closet in the corner. No matter what kind of bathroom you have, I think it should be a beautiful space for you to get ready for the day in and then come home and relax in. Here are a few simple ways you can add a touch of luxury to any bathroom on a budget.
Luxury bathroom on a Budget
I have so many perfume bottles sitting on my bathroom counter that it looks like I raided the perfume counter at Macy’s! Adding pretty perfume bottles to your space is a simple way to add the luxe-feel to your bathroom. If you don’t have any, check out antique or thrift stores from some old ones you can reuse.
If I’m taking a bath, you can bet I’m going to light a candle! My favorites are Jordan Cordori soy candles made here in Dallas. David and I got one from the Dallas Farmer’s Market (see previous post) last weekend and it smells divine! Little white candles like these just add so much to a bathroom!
One of my favorite things to add to a bathroom counter top is an apothecary jar. It’s simple and only requires a dusting every so often. Depending on how big your counter is, you can add a few short or tall ones and fill them with things like cotton balls or bars of soap. They’re pretty and provide added storage in plain sight!
Instead of hand soaps with pumps, go with a traditional bar of soap! Nothing says luxury like a pretty soap dish and a matching bar of lightly scented soap. How lovely does this look? After brunch the other day, I went into Whole Foods the other day (I realize how pretentious that sounds) and they had bars of soap on sale for $1 each. This one smells like vanilla!
My final touches of luxury for the bathroom are fluffy white rugs like the ones featured above and white high quality bathroom towels. These little details added so much to my bathroom when I finally bought them! It looks clean and crisp and always presentable for unexpected guests. Enjoy your luxury bathroom!
Happy Monday gals! I had a serious case of the Sunday scaries yesterday and the only way to solve it was by heading to Target and taking my sweet little time browsing the Target dollar section. Honestly, it’s therapeutic! Everything I could possibly want is between $1 and $5. Seasonal items, stationary, mugs, adult coloring books, you name it- the dollar spot has it. Piggy backing off of my post last week about office chic items, I figured I’d share with you a few affordable alternatives to the items I featured last week! Starting with some cute stationary- look at these adorable ‘hello’ notecards and pencils for $1 each! *Happy dance*
Chic Desktop Accessories on a Budget
I’m a big fan of organization and a good bargain. These file folders combine both of those things! $1 each and they have multiple designs. If I can find a cute gold file holder on sale sometime, I’ll be putting these on my desk to double as artwork!
These pastel wooden pencils are $1 and the notepad/mousepad is $1 too! You can’t beat that price! The watercolor illustrations on the notepad are so pretty. When I saw this, it totally made my day! I’ve seen some that have the days of the week on them and others that are blank note pages. Keep your eye out for new ones!
Since moving out on my own, I realize how precious and wonderful having my mom and grandmom’s recipes are. I’ll be darned if I can ever write them down though! I always end up calling my mom asking how to make this or that. Having a recipe book to keep everything in would be really helpful! This one was only $5 in the Target dollar spot! It has sections in it to divide appetizers from main dishes and so on.
Storage boxes are the best things ever for organization! I always have loose papers on my desk and just being able to put them all in one place is so helpful! These boxes run between $10 and $13 based on the size. How pretty would a few of them be sitting on your desk at work though?
I feel like I’m on a never-ending quest to find the perfect planner at a decent price! Normally, I’m a Lilly Pulitzer girl (so is my mom after I bought her one!) but lately I feel like I need something even bigger. I found a Day Designer planner at Target and just loved it! How pretty is the floral design? It mimics the ones Kate Spade and a few other designers have but for under $20!
Finally, this is probably one of the cutest finds of my afternoon shopping! I love clipboards even though I don’t have a use for one. The zebra and floral themes were really pretty and so much more fun than the boring old traditional ones our gym teachers carried around. These were priced around $10.
Treat yo’ self and pick up a few new desk accessories for this week! Even a pack of new pencils totally brightens my day!
Girl Boss Desk Supplies
Happy Friday gals! Since starting my new job, which by the way I love, I’m coming to notice that your office is your home away from home. You need to love it! My “office” is more of a desk in a big room with a few other coworkers, but nonetheless it’s still my own little space. Decorating an office space is probably the most exciting part of a new job. It’s certainly my favorite part! My office building in Downtown Dallas is actually an old warehouse converted into office space. How neat is that? Here are a few things I’m adding to my desk!
Kate Spade Pens and Pencils
Kate Spade is my go-to for everything! Sometimes I can even get a good deal on desk supplies. However, if her prices aren’t in your price range, the Target dollar spot is a good place to find chic office supplies for cheap! Some of my favorite things come from Target. Target also has a great selection of Kate Spade inspired planners and notebooks. This year, I’m definitely investing in the super pretty gold polka-dot planner for work. You wouldn’t believe my to-do list!
Stationary and Calendars from the Rifle Paper Co.
Ever since I walked into Anthropologie and began browsing the little desk supplies and home decor area, I fell in love with the Rifle Paper Company’s pretty calendars. Knowing that my job requires so much organization, I’ll not only need my Google calendar to stay on task, but also a pretty wall calendar. You can’t be too organized! Plus, I just love the 2017 Bon Voyage theme! Next year when I’m finished with the calendar, I’ll repurpose it and frame all the illustrations for my wall!
Travel Mugs and Swell Water Bottles
I’m a big fan of keeping your own coffee mugs and water bottles at the office. Why? Because mine are cuter and way more fun than the ones in the office kitchen. I love the ‘But First Coffee’ travel mug from Ban.do! Gold and white is my favorite color scheme. Swell water bottles are also becoming popular and are on my wish list. They aren’t what you might consider affordable, but there are other alternatives if you’d prefer to save some money! Having both of these items at my desk also adds a little personality to my space!
I’m so excited to start this new journey in my life! Moving to Dallas was a little scary but it’s really worth it when you find a place you love and a job you enjoy. Never be afraid of the unknown, girls! There’s so much out there to do!
Happy Friday lovely girls! Only one more week until I make my big move to Dallas and I’m getting so excited! Having inventoried all of the stuff I have (really just a bunch of clutter and things I don’t need) I made a little list of things that are on my “to buy” list. That “little list” keeps growing though. The sheer amount of things that a girl can accumulate in the name of it being cute is quite surprising!
Number one on my list is a gray or cream-colored tufted headboard. I can’t stand my bed just up against a wall with nothing to pull it together so to speak. A bed should be a space you go to relax and sleep. Frankly, if it isn’t orderly and somewhat dream-like, then sleep simply doesn’t come easily to me. Not sure if that makes me high-maintenance or not but I’m betting that’s what a few people are thinking. What can I say though, I like a pretty space!
The second thing on my list is a great standing mixer! My mom has a white Kitchen Aid mixer and it’s so useful. I’m not much help in the kitchen, but I do like to bake! Funny story though, I have the tendency to forget if I’m baking something and simply let it burn until I remember. I’ve done this with place and bake cookies quite often!
Finally, I’m hoping to get a great, high quality frame for a photo of my boyfriend David and I. Having pictures of family and friends around the house makes a space so much more personal. I found this Kate Spade one at Dillard’s a few weeks ago and have been admiring it ever since.
