Pier 1 Imports Style

Have you ever found something you absolutely fell in love with and then looked at the price tag? That happened to me yesterday. I went to Pier 1 Imports just to see what they had on clearance and sitting right in front of me when I walked in was this gorgeous sofa. It was a light cream with a tufted back and overly stuffed pillows. It was also $899. For some, that’s a decent price, but for a recent college grad swimming in debt, it’s too much.

I continued looking around the store and daydreaming of filling my future apartment with all the pretty things I wanted. A look at my bank account reminded me yet again that I should promptly exit the store. Nonetheless, I figured I’d share with you a few of my favorite living room pieces that I saw. Hopefully, you’ll daydream with me!

I’m confident I can achieve this look without spending the small fortune it would cost to buy it all at Pier 1. I visited Marshall’s a short while later and fell in love with similar things at a fraction of the price. When I officially move, I’ll probably be buying furniture a little bit at a time so I can pay in cash and not go into more debt. I’ll update y’all when that does happen so you can follow along in my interior design journey!

Curious to see the final result!!

  3. I think we can all relate to your sentiments. I had nothing but camping chairs for 6 months when I first moved out! Have you tried checking at TJ Maxx/Home Goods? They have some amazing stuff and some good deals if you check clearance!

  4. One of my favorite things ever is to browse websites and stores like Pier One for ways to furnish my apartment but sadly most of it is just daydreaming too. I’d love to do a post like this too just so all my daydreaming doesn’t seem like a wasted effort. πŸ™‚

  5. I almost bought that cream Colette sofa and the matching love seat! It was last November and we had just moved into our new house. Neither piece was discounted at the time, but after having looked at over a dozen furniture stores, there was just something about the Colette pieces that spoke to me. So I decided to purchase them through the store’s credit card, but their phone system was malfunctioning and I couldn’t get approved for the card. I finally left after a frustrating hour of trying to buy the furniture on credit. A few days later, I stopped by American Signature Furniture and found a similar set in seafoam green, tufted with wooden legs and adorable cylindrical accent pillows. It was deeply discounted, so I was able to buy both couch and loveseat for less than half the Colette sofa’s original price!

  6. Go Girl! I am currently in college and 100% know the feeling of going to stores and falling in love with items with price tags that make my bank account wince. Marshalls, Ross and sometimes Target are my go-to’s. And sometimes Pinterest. πŸ™‚
